Antioxidants are essential for purification!

Antioxidants

Antioxidants are a huge family of molecules with the mandate to protect the cells of the body against oxidation, a normal phenomenon related to the fact that the body use oxygen to create energy. The overconsumption of calories, the many sources of external oxidative stress such as pollution, cigarette smoking and a diet low in antioxidants cause an increase of free radicals in our blood which, in turn, leads to a premature damage to our cells.

To combat this modern plague of overoxidation, we must consume large amounts of antioxidants. If you wish to reverse the aging process you will have to maximize the amount of antioxidants in your daily diet.

Before continuing, I would like to clarify my position vis-à-vis antioxidant supplements. Understand that antioxidants alone do not provide any regeneration capabilities, it is the combinations of minerals, antioxidants, nutrients and specific other compounds of a whole food that can transfer vitality into us. The more you will eat fresh foods which are the result of the equilibrium of life, the more you will be alive because this equilibrium can be transferred to your living cells. Pills, are not the result of any kind of natural equilibrium expressed by life, it is rather an enemy of good health that I include in the category of denatured foods. There is no guarantee that your body will not see these molecules as potential poisons, which is often the case when they are presented in the form of supplements and not by complex digestive processes.

I have never seen anyone cure its deceases by taking supplements but I have seen many people intoxicate themselves by doing so. Even vitamine C supplements, which are common, have a tendancy to accumulate in the liver and then become a toxin like any other pollutants. Studies have shown that vitamin E supplements often increase cancer risk and recently studies have shown that green tea extract are associated with an increased risk of liver cancer. These are just a few quick examples. Many studies have shown that a lot of supplements are harmful and increase cancer rates, especially for the liver. Because this is the organ responsible to filter these toxins out of the body, damage to the liver is often one of the easiest way to see that some kind of element is toxic to the body after long exposure.

That being said, you don’t need to take any supplement to get very high amount of powerful antioxidants. There is no risks and only great benefits to eating high amount of antioxydants coming from whole foods. Here’s where to find them among foods easily available on the market.

Vitamin C

Contained in most fruits, in green vegetables and many plants, vitamin C is one of the best known antioxidant by the public. Its antioxidant action is powerful and it also strengthens immune system. It helps to eliminate a lot of waste of the body when consumed in large quantities through fresh berries during the summer. In moderate quantity, it has a protective action and ensures a healthy optimal.

Vitamin C is water soluble, that is, it dissolves in the liquid, and must therefore be consumed daily so that our organism has enough of it, because we evacuate it constantly in our urine. Even at very high doses, it is not harmful but may cause severe diarrhea when the dose exceeds 2000mg per day. It is easy to obtain large quantities of it from our food. However, take note that foods which are usually rich in vitamin C are also acidic. That’s why green vegetables, which do not have the disadvantage of acidity, are to consider as an important source of vitamin C for people who suffer from an excess of acidity.

Heat destroys vitamin C, so avoid cooking for a long time vegetables that are rich in it such as broccoli. Also note that all fruits rich in vitamin C (especially citrus) should be kept cool in the refrigerator before being consumed.

Vitamin C plays many roles in the human body. Of course, it is a primordial antioxidant essential to longevity, which protects us from cancer and the appearance of cataracts. It is also the vitamin of immunity, it helps to fight infections and reduces the risk of tiredness. It helps  prevent wrinkles by participating in manufacturing collagen essential to beautiful skin. It lowers cholesterol levels and accelerates wound healing. It participates in the manufacture of muscles, bones, teeth, cartilage and, above all, ensures that our blood vessels are solid.

Its full antioxidant power is achieved when the food is consumed shortly after picking. That’s why I encourage you to go pick fresh berries at the height of their rejuvenating action every summer.

Vitamin A

Vitamin A comes in two forms: the animal form, retinol, and the vegetable form, called carotenoids. It’s retinol which makes our eye adapts well to darkness and helps stimulate our visual functions in general. In addition to fortifying immune system, retinol participates in several physiological phenomenon, such as scarring.

If we are in good health, there is very little risk to have a deficiency of this vitamin because the body is able to synthesize it from the vegetable form of vitamin A: carotenoids. It is besides the vegetable form which holds the most powerful antioxidant virtues. Carotenoids are known to slow down the aging process, to protect against cancer of the skin, bladder and lung. We can consume large quantities of carotenoids, unlike retinol which can causes problems of variable intensity with an over consumption.

No need to take any supplement, nothing is better than the carrot to provide huge amounts of vitamin A. Do a fresh carrot’s juice with your favorite juicer or juice extractor, that’s how you can drastically increase your consumption of this vitamin. I make carrot juice when I have the chance to get my hands on fresh organic carrots. Otherwise, I eat raw carrot regularly, one carrot is more than enough to exceed the daily intake recommended vitamin A.

Carotenoids are also present in large quantities in the flesh of the pumpkin so this is an alternative during autumn. Several other fruits and vegetables contain good quantities of vitamin A: mango, broccoli, parsnip, spinach, cabbage, cantaloupe, apricot, plum and almost all colorful fruits. So it’s very easy to get big quantities of this precious antioxidant. Here is a table to help you learn the most important and easily available sources of vitamin A on the market.

Vitamin E

Perhaps the least known, but certainly the most important of all, vitamin E is the protector of your arteries and tissues against oxidation. It is therefore the perfect solution to counter one of the three aging factors that is the oxidation of our cells over time (factors causing premature aging will be studied in more detail in a future book).

Vitamin E is the anti-aging vitamin par excellence. It will make you regain your youth and protect you against aging in a way you would not believe if you don’t experience it. It helps to clean and rejuvenate arteries that have been damaged by eating high-fat foods containing saturated fat, trans fat, fried foods and excess sugar. Combined with a good amount of vitamin C, its purifying power is greatly amplified.

In addition, vitamin E thins the blood and reduces the risk of clot formation that could cause you many problems such as stroke or heart attack. It softens blood vessels and decreases fatigue. It’s a vitamin liposoluble, so the antioxidant action focuses especially on the wall of our cells and blood vessels.

You should see it as some kind of cleaning agent or detergent that cleans your arteries and rejuvenates them at the same time. The more I consumed vitamin E in my diet, the more I felt my circulation become effective again.

Vitamin E  from animal products, such as egg yolks, did not show any interesting property of purification during my experimentation. On the contrary, eggs are to avoid in to rejuvenate the body. Only vitamin E from vegetable foods was able to rejuvenate my body. In addition, plant products are cholesterol free and contain only very small amounts of saturated fat, two elements that can affect our circulation negatively.

I insist on not using vitamin E supplements, because many companies offer vitamin E extracted from petrochemical products. This one is a toxin for the body, that your liver must strive to eliminate. On the English-language site of Health Canada, here’s what we could read at the time of writing this book:

” Recent studies, have suggested that the use of high doses of vitamin E (in supplements) may actually increase the risk of heart disease and cancer in people who are at high risk for these diseases.”

Glutathione

According to research, antioxidants that protects the body are not only provided by our nutrition. Our liver can also build them if we give it the right tools to do so. The most important antioxidant created by the body bears the name of L-glutathione. Without it, a complete  regeneration is impossible. It is necessary to dislodge the worst poisons of our body and I suspect it is related to apoptosis, which is the basis or cellular regeneration.

The liver must build proper amount of glutathione to help other antioxidants dislodge toxins accumulated in the body. To do this, you have to maintain a high intake of protein and selenium. That explains why high quality lean meats and fish are extremely important to increase the protein intake per calories, which seems to favor the production of glutathione by the body. That’s what I experienced when I regenerated my body with nutrition.

To get protein and selenium, the combination lean meat + garlic is excellent and recommended in rejuvenating nutrition.

Main sources of selenium are : brazil nuts, oysters, fishes , whole grains, meat, garlic, other nuts.

Other antioxidants

Antioxidant substances are present in all undenatured vegetable foods. You should see every edible plants on Earth as a unique cocktail of complex chemicals that interact with the body and can transfer vitality into it. In the past ten years, a lot of research have shown that many vegetables and fruits contains antioxidants that can effectively fight cancer or prevent it. That is just the tip of the iceberg. In fact, vegetable substances transfer into us vitality and health.

Antioxidant molecules are called different names, for example, tomatos contain lycopene and blueberries contain anthocyanidin. Sometimes, we refer these antioxidants as phytochemicals. These molecules normally serve as plant’s defense against natural predators present in their environment. Once ingested, these substances help the body to destroy the unhealthy cells present in the body that may sooner or later cause cancer. According to my experiments, these substances are essential to rejuvenate the body and we gain to include in our diet a large variety of different foods rich in antioxidants. Diversity of vegetable substance transfer into us equilibrium and triggers the rejuvenation of the body.

Garlic, onion, berries, cabbage family, grapes, citrus fruits, beans and nuts: all are rich in different antioxidant compounds that promote longevity. Herbs, spices and even herbal teas and tea also contain an important quantity of antioxidants. So, it’s important to understand that even the foods that do not contain significant amounts of vitamins A, C and E can have a very strong antioxidant action. Garlic is the best example!

Remember that antioxidants are only a part of the secrets of rejuvenating nutrition. They alone do not provide any regeneration but only works towards purification of the body, which is one of the two phase that is necessary to rejuvenate to body. All vegetable substances contains one or more phytochemical molecules that promote longevity.

And if nature was nothing less than our guardian angel. After all, “antioxidants,” are just a simple expression invented by the human to mean something much greater: some substances contained in plants are recognized by our body and help it to live longer. In other words, there is a transfer of life between plants and humans. Nature, by its structure and the inherent effects of plants on our body, is showing us they way we should behave to be healthy.

The best way to maximize our ingestion of phytochemical compounds through a balanced diet model is to adopt the rejuvenating nutrition model as our daily diet. Here is a table showing foods you should use on a regular basis to rejuvenate your body.
